Aztec Group creates new senior role to lead client change work

A modern glass-fronted office building in St Helier, Jersey, Channel Islands, on a bright autumn morning.

In brief: Aztec Group has created a new senior role and filled it with a seasoned industry professional. Ruby Paramanathan joins as Head of Strategic Client Change, bringing more than 25 years of experience across asset management and consulting.

A New Role for a Changing Market

Aztec Group has appointed Ruby Paramanathan to the newly created position of Head of Strategic Client Change, Channel Eye reports. The role has been established in direct response to growing demand from private markets firms for strategic delivery expertise as they pursue operational excellence, scalability and transformation at pace.

In her new position, Paramanathan will lead the client-facing dimension of Aztec’s most significant client change programmes, working closely with clients to understand their priorities and co-develop practical solutions. The aim, according to the firm, is to ensure that client priorities actively shape how Aztec develops its services and partnerships, rather than the other way around.

A Heavyweight CV

Paramanathan arrives with a career spanning more than 25 years across asset management and consulting, with a specialism in the design and delivery of complex change programmes covering data, operations, technology and client experience. Before joining Aztec, she held senior leadership positions at Columbia Threadneedle Investments, KPMG, PwC and M&G Investments, partnering with leading global asset managers to modernise operating models and improve client outcomes.

Melissa Ferraz, Chief Commercial Officer at Aztec Group, said: “Ruby brings a valuable combination of asset management expertise, strategic consulting experience and a strong track record of delivering major change programmes. Her ability to turn client priorities into practical, scalable solutions will strengthen how we partner with clients and support their long-term ambitions.”

Paramanathan herself struck an optimistic note on joining: “As clients continue to navigate increasingly complex operational and regulatory change, there is a significant opportunity to combine deep industry expertise with technology, data and innovative ways of working.”

What This Means for Jersey

Aztec Group is one of the Channel Islands’ most prominent fund administration and services businesses, and appointments at this level are a useful barometer of confidence in the sector. The creation of a brand-new strategic role, rather than a straightforward replacement hire, signals that the firm sees meaningful growth ahead in its client change work. For Jersey’s finance industry, which remains the island’s economic backbone, that kind of investment in senior talent is an encouraging sign that the private markets sector continues to view the jurisdiction as a serious operational base.

The emphasis on navigating “complex operational and regulatory change” is also telling. As global regulatory demands on private markets firms continue to intensify, the ability to offer clients expert guidance through that complexity is increasingly a competitive differentiator, and one that plays well to Jersey’s strengths as a well-regulated, professionally staffed financial centre.
