In brief: Barbara Corbett, founding senior partner of Jersey law firm Corbett LeQuesne, has been appointed to the judging panel for the Citywealth Powerwomen Awards International 2027. She brings more than 30 years of family law experience to the role, with a specialism in high net worth divorce and finance cases.
A Jersey Name on an International Stage
Channel Eye reports that Barbara Corbett has joined the judging panel of the Citywealth Powerwomen Awards International 2027, a well-regarded annual recognition programme now in its twelfth year. The awards were created to highlight the achievements of women in the wealth sector and to recognise companies that promote female leadership and support women’s career progression.
Corbett is the founding senior partner at Corbett LeQuesne, a Jersey-based law firm, and her appointment reflects the island’s standing as a serious player in the international wealth management and legal landscape. It is a reminder that Jersey punches well above its weight when it comes to specialist legal and financial expertise.
Who Is Barbara Corbett?
With over 30 years of experience in family law, Corbett specialises in high net worth divorce and finance cases, private law children matters, and public children law work. She is a member of the Law Society of Jersey’s Children Panel and Mental Health Panel, and was one of the founders of Women in Family Law.
Perhaps most notably, she is the only practising lawyer in the Channel Islands who holds membership of the IAFL, the International Academy of Family Lawyers, a distinction that underlines both her expertise and her international profile. That combination of local roots and global recognition makes her a natural fit for a judging panel of this kind.
About the Citywealth Powerwomen Awards
The Citywealth Powerwomen Awards International are now entering their twelfth year. Having established themselves in London, the awards expanded to the United States in 2022, recognising excellence among women in the wealth sector on both sides of the Atlantic. The awards serve as a platform not only for individual achievement but also for organisations that actively champion women’s career development in what remains a competitive and demanding industry.
