What was money worth?
Uses annual average RPI index numbers from 1949 to 2025.
About these figures
The RPI measures the average change in the prices of goods and services bought by Jersey households, including housing costs. RPIX leaves out mortgage interest payments. RPIY also leaves out indirect taxes such as GST and impôts, so it shows underlying inflation. Separate indices track prices for pensioner and low-income households.
