# Ocorian promotes seven-year veteran to new global leadership role

**In brief:** Ocorian, the financial services provider with significant operations in Jersey, has appointed Kristina Rowe as its new Global Head of Issuer Services. Rowe, who joined Ocorian in 2019, steps into a newly created role based in London, joining the company’s executive leadership team.

## A New Role for a Familiar Face

Channel Eye reports that Kristina Rowe has been appointed to the newly created position of Global Head of Issuer Services at Ocorian, based in London. The appointment is an internal promotion: Rowe has been with the firm since 2019, during which time she has held a range of senior positions including global Chief of Staff, head of the Global Private Clients business, and Regional Head of UK and Ireland.

Before joining Ocorian, Rowe built a career spanning financial services and private equity, with roles at JP Morgan Chase, Mourant International Finance Administration, and State Street. That breadth of experience across major institutions gives her a well-rounded grounding for a role that will require navigating complex, multi-jurisdictional client relationships.

## What the Role Involves

Ocorian’s Issuer Services teams work with clients across a broad range of instruments and assets, including securitisations, aviation and insurance. The creation of a dedicated global head for this division signals that the firm sees it as a growth area worthy of focused executive attention.

Co-CEO Yegor Lanovenko was characteristically upbeat about the appointment. “Kristina brings multi-disciplinary expertise and experience in asset and issuer servicing, combined with the knowledge of our clients through her years of valuable contributions at Ocorian,” he said, adding that he was “excited for Kristina to be joining the executive leadership team and bringing her energy and vision to the business and our clients.”

Rowe herself described the timing as significant. “I’m thrilled to be leading our Issuer Services business at an important point in its development,” she said, “and to bring our capabilities together to strengthen the way we support clients across our global locations.” She pointed to what she called “exceptional skills across our markets and a strong foundation from which to build an Issuer Services business that’s recognised for its expertise, client service and ability to respond to increasingly complex market environments.”

## Why This Matters for Jersey

Ocorian is one of the larger players in Jersey’s financial services sector, a sector that remains the backbone of the island’s economy. Appointments at this level, even when the role itself is based in London, reflect the health and ambition of firms that have Jersey at or near their centre of gravity. The creation of a brand-new global leadership position in issuer services suggests Ocorian is investing in capability rather than consolidating, which is encouraging news for the jurisdiction’s reputation as a hub for sophisticated financial structures.

Rowe’s background at Mourant International Finance Administration will also be familiar to many in Jersey’s financial community, given Mourant’s long-standing presence on the island. It is the kind of career trajectory that underlines just how interconnected the Channel Islands finance industry is with the broader global market.

## The NSFW Perspective

There is something quietly reassuring about a firm choosing to promote from within rather than parachuting in an outsider with a glossy CV and no institutional memory. Rowe has spent years learning the business from the inside, which is rather more useful preparation for running a global division than a well-crafted LinkedIn profile. Whether the Issuer Services business grows into the powerhouse she envisions remains to be seen, but the foundations, as she herself notes, appear solid. Jersey’s finance industry will be watching with interest.
